A STORY WORTH STAYING FOR

A NEW HOPE LEGACY SINCE THE EARLY 1700s

c.1722 – The original building was constructed around 1722 and officially began operating as an inn in 1727.

1727 – Originally, the property was known as the “Ferry Tavern.” It was built by John Wells, one of the founders of New Hope, at a time when the Delaware River ferry crossing between Pennsylvania and New Jersey was a major travel route between Philadelphia and New York. Travelers, merchants, and stagecoaches would stop here for lodging, food, and rest before continuing their journey.

Early 1800s – The Inn was renamed the Logan Inn in honor of Lenni-Lenape Chief Wingohocking. Over the centuries, the property evolved alongside New Hope itself as the town transformed from a ferry village into an artistic and cultural destination.

Late 1980s – The Inn went through several renovations over the years, including a major restoration in the late 1980s that helped preserve many of its colonial architectural elements and historic murals.

2015 – Landmark Hospitality, led by Frank Cretella and Jeanne Cretella, purchased the property and began a large-scale restoration and expansion project.

2021 – The renovated Inn reopened with additional guest rooms, event spaces, restaurants, and updated boutique amenities while intentionally preserving the building’s historic character.

Today – Logan Inn is known as a boutique hotel, event venue, restaurant, bar, and gathering space right in the heart of New Hope, blending colonial history with modern hospitality. It’s also somewhat famous locally for its rumored ghost stories and “haunted Inn” reputation.
